Falling-out is a culture-bound syndrome seen in the southern United States and the Caribbean. It is characterized by a dizzy, "spinning" sensation that eventually results in the sufferer collapsing.[1] After collapsing, sufferers report being unable to see[2], even if their eyes are open, yet say they can hear and understand events around them.[3]
